You can have trolleybuses, trolleyboats, etc. and most modern rail vehicles are not trolleys-- they use pantographs for power pickup. (The one notable exception to this is Toronto, as well as many "heritage" streetcars.)Allie Cathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08388778275254352958noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5862444008740250372.post-26677766326946221572012-04-12T04:49:34.973-04:002012-04-12T04:49:34.973-04:00@cap'n

It's not a BIG advantage, but it's something.EngineerScottyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11005863528905991434noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5862444008740250372.post-54665667309549777932012-04-11T11:12:52.349-04:002012-04-11T11:12:52.349-04:00Boston has three stroads like this, with a separat...Boston has three stroads like this, with a separated trolley in the median. Not pleasant.

Though I have to say, they run pretty slowly, because of bad operational practices, and because cars are willing to block intersections in front of trains.Matthewhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02027332620204904993noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5862444008740250372.post-92031703641354926352012-04-11T02:03:06.644-04:002012-04-11T02:03:06.644-04:00I created a Flickr group dedicated to showcasing p...I created a Flickr group dedicated to showcasing photos of transit (trains as well as buses) running over grass.
http://www.flickr.com/groups/1641257@N23/Steven Vancehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17187232603226921265noreply@blogger.com
