My head exploded
Jim Cameron of the Connecticut Rail Commuter Council tells Newsday, "I don't know why we're talking about encouraging people to use mass transit when the DOT isn't doing anything to increase parking at the stations."
Yeah, the Rail Council still trying to catch the speeding car for a headline...like they forgot about the underway 1400-space Fairfield Metro station, the Bridgeport station garage addition of 500 spaces, the West Haven, Orange, Stratford station development underway. Blah blah blah- ask Cameron what he is doing to actually convince towns to agree to decks at Noroton, Westport, Cos Cob, Darien,New Canaan, etc...What an activist group
Cameron is against bike access on trains, too - a simple solution that could easily decrease some of the demand for parking: http://www.downtownnewhaven.blogspot.com/2008/03/bicycles-on-trains.html
